Tom's 50 !

Tom turned 50 on Friday and we celebrated at the beach with Friends & Family on Saturday. Yesterday was GORGEOUS, the sun was bright, the breeze was just enough, and except for a few annoying bees (who must have thought they were invited), Tom picked the perfect location for us to party! He also brought his American Flag, and somehow got it 20 feet in the air! David was able to get a shot of the setting sun framing Tom and me in the photo!

Pandora's quilting

I got to use my table this weekend, and it worked great on such a big piece. I keep wondering what I was thinking - I know I was thinking that Mancuso likes BIG WORK, but... Well we know how big this lady is! This is my first pass with the quilting. I had approximately 300 pins, holding the tulle, Angelina, background, batting and backing. I stabbed myself more than I ever had and I did a really dumb thing - I sewed through my finger! It didn't really hurt too much but I was a little concerned when the middle 1/2 inch of the needle was missing. I found it fortunately! Ok, so what do you think? I'm still debating if I'll do her hair or dress tomorrow night, I'd love to take her with me to guild. Bonnie happens to be the speaker, and Pandora would make a nice show and tell piece! Here is a detail and almost full shot.

Marie at PNQE

Look at how lovely and relaxed Marie looks! Retirements suits you, Marie! Thank you for sending this great photo of you and Deirdre of the Sorrows, from the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza. I'm thrilled that you were able to get a photo of her and her placement inside the entrance sounds wonderful!

What Tarot Card Are You

I took this quiz after seeing it on Red Shoe Ramblings. Normally I don't take these thing but this one had me curious. The Chariot Card
You are the Chariot card. The Chariot has the
energy to succeed. Their ambition and drive
leads them into competition, and they often
come out the victor. The fast-paced energy of
the chariot is met with the ability to control
and lead. The Charioteer's leadership is not
authoritarian but rather an attempt to bring
their team to victory. The Charioteer can be
obedient to those who have proven themselves in
a position of leadership. Physical prowess and
activity are important to the meaning of this
card. Travel is found here as a journey of
personal growth. Moving from one point to
another in attempt to find a better place may
be taken both literally and as a metaphor for
the inner self. Image from: Dorothy Simpson

Cracking The Cosmic EGG

This is what I started with - INTERESTING would be an UNDERSTATEMENT!

This is the Unpeeled EGG! There are little women with tools, who used the tools to break out of the Cosmic EGG. Pamela Allen sent this stuff, I especially liked the Zucchini Tree and the metal gears she included for use on her quilt! LOL. I am going to look at things with a different eye - and for Pamela's birthday - I'll have a nice pile of "stuff" to send her! LOL

These photos show the quilt with the cracked shell. I still have to bind this piece, but that shouldn't take too long. I really like the oval format!

An Incredible Table!

Tom is my Hero this week! He had promised to build me a table for my sewing machines, replacing the narrow hollow-core door. Well he out did himself! Here are lots of photos (I'm excited I can't help it!) I have Iris drawers on the front and have both drawers and boxes on the rear. There is an amazing amount of storage available. I still have things to organize but it really is great! The tabletop is 44x70 Thank you TOM - this is better than I had hoped for!
