It seemed to take me all day to set up the frame for my machine. I haven't used it in a while, even though I remembered the part about taping things down , I pretty much forgot about how long getting the bars set up take. I am going to use the $ I saved and purchase 2 sets of poles which I can keep set up. So after getting the furniture moved and the tables set up and the track taped down. I nervously started getting the machine ready - I hadn't tried to do anything, because I was worried about screwing it up. Finally I was ready to load something - oh wait - The tables are on the wrong side of the room, I always used the Juki before and sewed from the rear, but I wanted to have the handles on the front so I could quilt looking at the needle. I was all set to move everything when Tom said, "Why don't we move the couch out?" Well that is what we did and here is a photo of the machine showing the length of the tables. Finally its set up and I have a small piece of junk fabric to practice The blue tape is a guide so I can figure out how much quilting room I have left. The tension knob was really loose and the mess of thread on the back was frightening! I screwed it as tight as I thought it needed - it took a while until the thread felt right. Also when we started the motor hesitated. Tom moved the motor mount out and put some more pressure on the belt. Then we tried it again and it worked great! Of course that meant that Morgan needed to come out and show me exactly what needed to be done. Of course I will need to get one of these cute skirts to quilt in, too! Tomorrow I will do a real quilt! YIKES!

I'm working on a RR - we each start with an Amulet on a necklace and it will go to 3 other players. I had started mine a while ago but today most of it came together! I'm glad I waited for an order from Cartwight's Sequins. They were fun to use, although not as fast as I expected. Hopefully for future projects they will go faster! Tomorrow this will be mailed off - right after I get the journal finished and find an necklace to hang it from. 3.25 x 1.5

After Tom and Morgan managed to find a million more important things to do - Finally Tom was ready to help me get it out of the car. We ended up taking the packaging apart in the car - it was very well packed so even its short trip upside down doesn't seem to have caused any damage. Tom brought it upstairs and here are some photos. I wanted to wait until I read the manual before I did anything - tomorrow I'll get all the parts put together! I can't wait for this weekend to play with my new Girl! :-D eirdre
I knew that FedEx was going to deliver 2 boxes with my new sewing machine today - I also knew I wanted them put into my car - at 3:00 the FedEx truck drove up to our building - I yelled I was going outside - ran down the stairs and hit the FedEx guy with the door - Me - How many Boxes Him - I don't know Me - well where are they Him - on the back loading dock? Me - You left my new sewing machine on the back loading dock Him - Hey lady I'm here to pick up a package Me - PICK UP? WHERE IS MY SEWING MACHINE Him - Maybe the other guy has it. 4:15 - FedEx truck pulls up (I scream again to the people I'm working with and rush outside)I see a guy putting a large box upside down (This side UP) Me - Hey is that my box? Him - No Me - how do you know - it looks like mine Him - Well are you expecting a heavy box Me - I'm expecting a sewing machine but I'm pretty sure mine will be delivered Right Side UP Him - hummm - well this isn't yours - its for Redington Me - well do you Think that Deirdre Abbotts above Redington on that tag might be me Him - Is it? Me - Yup - Him - well this one is heavy Me - Ok - I'm going to drive my car around Him - OK Drive around Me - I thought that the last FedEx guy had my machine Him - That was FedEx Express - they only lift envelopes He flips over the box - gets it in the car and gives me the 2nd box. 40 Minutes until I can leave..... damn it went slow. I drive into my driveway - just in time to see my darling husband turn the corner on his Harley. Crap-The box is too big and heavy to get out of my car - GRRRR I did open the small box - it has a plastic shoebox filled with oil and stuff - who cares! DAMN :-D eirdre
